About the Role:
Heartbeat Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our virtual clinic Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you’ll be a key member of our Clinical Care Team, supporting patients and providers in a fully remote environment. You’ll ensure smooth virtual visits, accurate documentation, and a compassionate patient experience all while helping shape the future of digital heart care.
Patient care:
- Prepare patients for physician visits
- Connect with patients, ensure video and audio work, and add interpreters as needed
- Obtain signed telehealth consent forms
- Obtain photos of insurance cards
Clinical duties:
- Prepare patients for physicians
- Take medical information over the phone
- Document medical history, medications, dosing, and primary complaint
- Obtain baseline vitals and verify baseline labs
- Conduct KCCQ survey
Administrative tasks:
- Answer incoming calls
- Engage in confirmation calls for upcoming appointments
- Perform chart checks and engage in chart prep prior to patient visits
- Schedule follow up appointments and labs
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation
- Execute policies that promote the best patient experience
About You:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Experience: 1-3 Years of experience as a Medical Assistant to include providing virtual care to patients
- Skills: Exceptional people skills, a GREAT communicator, outstanding organization and multitasking, and detail-oriented with a focus on process
- Traits: Self-driven and excited to support new technology, a fast learner that is flexible and adaptable with a passion for delivering an outstanding patient experience
