The Developer Experience Platform team is looking for an extraordinary senior software engineer to help lead the design and architecture of our next-gen developer experience platform and accelerate app development across Apple.

The Developer Experience Platform team builds the frameworks, services, and AI tools that help Apple’s enterprise developers move faster through the software development lifecycle. We’re creating a new AI-powered developer platform that brings together AI agents and autonomous workflows to support how apps are built across Apple.

This is a hands-on engineering role with broad technical ownership. You’ll help set the architectural direction for our agentic AI platform, driving key design decisions that balance reliability and scale with experimentation and innovation. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, partner closely with senior engineers and researchers, and help mentor other engineers on the team.

The right candidate has deep backend and distributed systems expertise, substantial hands-on experience with AI agents in production, and a track record of driving technical direction on complex systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering or machine learning, including experience owning systems end-to-end
• Hands-on experience designing and building AI agents with Large Language Models (LLMs), including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, or CrewAI
• Strong programming skills in multiple languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or TypeScript), with a proven track record of architecting and building distributed systems, backend services, and APIs in production environments at scale
• Demonstrated experience leading technical design for complex projects and influencing decisions across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), at production scale
• Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices for deploying, scaling, and monitoring LLM-powered services
• Track record building REST or GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems as a technical lead
• Knowledge of vector databases, memory systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows, with experience making architectural tradeoffs among them
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical strategy across ML research, platform engineering, and product teams
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence direction across teams and levels
