Sr. Sales Manager

This is a senior commercial leadership opportunity overseeing sales and distribution activities across North America.
You will drive revenue, profitability, customer outcomes, and channel performance for a portfolio of electronic materials and related products.
The role combines strategic planning, complex OEM relationship management, supply chain coordination, and business development.
You will work closely with business unit leaders, factories, distributors, marketing, R&D, and senior customer stakeholders in a complex global organization.
A key focus will be aligning customer demand with supply capabilities while managing commercial, operational, legal, and financial considerations.
You will also represent the organization in high-level negotiations, industry events, customer meetings, and professional networks.
This role is well suited to an experienced sales leader with strong electronics industry expertise who can operate strategically while remaining accountable for measurable business results.
Accountabilities:
- Lead North American sales and distribution activities for assigned products, with accountability for revenue, profitability, performance metrics, and appropriate management of commercial and financial risk.
- Develop and execute annual strategic and operational plans to achieve sales forecasts, profitability targets, and broader business objectives.
- Manage relationships with assigned U.S. OEM customers and coordinate complex supply chains spanning OEMs, manufacturing partners, distributors, and channel partners.
- Represent business and product interests in management-level negotiations with OEMs, channel partners, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement North American channel strategies aligned with regional and global business priorities.
- Incorporate North American supply chain requirements into corporate planning to strengthen supply stability and mitigate operational risk.
- Collaborate with factory management to optimize production operations, product availability, and supply planning for North American customers.
- Negotiate with internal business units and channel partner management teams to support commercial and operational objectives.
- Build strong relationships with business unit leaders, marketing, R&D, colleagues, sponsors, and other stakeholders across a complex matrixed organization.
- Support product management and strategic new product introductions by partnering with R&D and marketing teams.
- Monitor customers, markets, technology developments, competitive conditions, and broader business trends, providing relevant information to support strategic decisions.
- Represent the organization at industry events, professional organizations, customer meetings, consortiums, and other external forums while developing a strong professional network.
- Manage assigned budgets and expenses, including travel and capital expenditures, while providing accurate and timely forecasts, sales reports, business updates, and other required reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, government regulations, financial requirements, and mandatory training.
- Promote a collaborative, customer-focused culture while modeling professionalism, integrity, creativity, cooperation, trust, and a positive attitude.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, or related commercial functions, which may overlap with the industry experience requirement.
- Demonstrated understanding of global supply chain complexities within the electronic materials industry.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Strong sales leadership, business development, strategic planning, and commercial management capabilities.
- Experience managing OEM relationships, distributors, channel partners, and complex multi-party supply chains.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans while maintaining clear accountability for financial and operational results.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect functional responsibilities with broader organizational objectives.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed and complex environment and influence stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, partners, industry organizations, executives, and internal teams across different cultures.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to lead change, collaborate effectively, and develop productive relationships with direct reports, colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in English; Japanese and English bilingual capability is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to work involving certain aerospace OEM customers.
- Proficiency with standard business technology, including Microsoft Office, email, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and effectively use company systems, software, devices, and other business technologies.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time, with a valid passport and clear driving record.
- Annual salary range of $145,000–$169,000, with actual compensation based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
