Sr. Manager, Global Procurement (Bags and Accessories)

This role offers the opportunity to lead global procurement strategy for bags and accessories within a fast-growing, technology-enabled consumer business.
You will own cost structures, savings initiatives, supplier strategy, and competitive sourcing programs designed to deliver exceptional products at highly competitive prices.
The position combines strategic procurement leadership with hands-on expertise in commodity costing, clean-sheet analysis, manufacturing efficiency, and upstream sourcing.
You will work closely with materials, sourcing, merchandising, production, technology, and manufacturing partners across Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply networks.
A major focus will be creating greater pricing transparency, securing supply continuity, and identifying opportunities to improve margins at scale.
You will also help modernize procurement through AI-enabled RFP processes, scenario analysis, and technology-driven workflows.

• Define and execute commercial procurement strategies and vendor distribution plans for bags and accessories, establishing short- and long-term targets aligned with business growth.
• Drive exceptional product cost while maintaining product quality, sustainability, and ESG considerations.
• Partner with technology teams to embed procurement capabilities, processes, and playbooks into vendor and product management tools.
• Lead initiatives targeting significant product cost reductions, including a goal of 700 basis points of cost reduction over the next 12 months.
• Own end-to-end competitive RFP processes, from vendor identification and bidding through negotiation, evaluation, and supplier award.
• Develop repeatable negotiation frameworks that deliver immediate savings while building long-term category maturity and competitive advantage.
• Develop AI-enabled RFP capabilities and scenario-analysis tools to make sourcing processes more systematic and scalable.
• Build and apply component-level clean sheets to establish cost transparency and support pricing negotiations.
• Review and approve buy plans while optimizing costs, margins, material availability, and commercial outcomes.
• Negotiate upstream with suppliers of fabrics, yarns, fibers, trims, and other critical inputs to secure competitive pricing and reliable availability.
• Establish launch costing and define schedules for renegotiating pricing as products achieve greater scale.
• Provide merchandising teams with achievable scale-costing targets to support product and assortment decisions.
• Partner with Material Managers, Sourcing teams, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to incorporate upstream material advantages into finished-goods costing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate material availability and cost optimization into product design and development from an early stage.
• Identify opportunities for verticalization, volume consolidation, and other supply chain strategies that can unlock new sources of financial value.
• Explore innovative commodity and material strategies, including market-making opportunities, strategic supplier partnerships, and approaches to managing price fluctuations.

Requirements:

• 12–15 years of experience in global procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within consumer goods or retail environments.
• Proven track record managing competitive RFP processes with international manufacturing partners.
• Hands-on experience developing and using clean-sheet costing methodologies for cost transparency and supplier negotiations.
• Strong analytical capabilities and confidence using data to evaluate costs, scenarios, supplier performance, and business opportunities.
• Deep understanding of commodity costing, manufacturing efficiency, material consumption, and upstream sourcing.
• Experience working directly with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and international manufacturing partners.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with merchandising, materials, production, sourcing, and technology teams.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills with the ability to balance cost, quality, availability, and long-term supplier relationships.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities beyond traditional sourcing, including vertical integration and volume consolidation.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where challenging established processes and developing new approaches are encouraged.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to procurement, sourcing, analytics, and workflow automation.
