Software Engineering Senior Analyst - Cigna Healthcare

Overview

Cigna International Health is undertaking a strategic transformation programme to modernise its customer portals and self-service applications, supporting the growth of our health businesses globally.

We are seeking an experienced Senior React Native Developer to build and enhance our next-generation mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React Native, TypeScript, mobile architecture, and API integration, with a passion for delivering high-quality, performant, and secure mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

Mobile Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native for iOS and Android.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable components aligned with our design system.
• Ensure excellent user experience, performance, accessibility, and application stability.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs using secure authentication mechanisms.

Engineering Excellence

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following modern software engineering practices.
• Implement automated testing strategies and adopt Test-Driven Development (TDD) where appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, reliability, and security issues.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Designers, and Backend Engineers to deliver business value.
• Contribute to Agile delivery processes and iterative software development.
• Support CI/CD implementation and mobile release processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Mentoring

• Mentor and support junior developers.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

Experience

• 6+ years of software development experience, with significant experience building enterprise mobile applications using React Native.
• Proven experience delivering applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Technical Skills

Must have strong experience in:

• React Native
• React
• TypeScript / JavaScript (ES6+)
• Mobile application architecture and design patterns
• Redux / Redux Toolkit or similar state management libraries
• REST API integration
• OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, or token-based authentication
• Mobile testing frameworks and automated testing practices
• Git-based source control workflows

Experience with:

• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, etc.)
• Performance optimisation and debugging mobile applications
• Agile development methodologies

Desirable

• Full-stack development experience (Node.js, NestJS, Java, .NET, or similar)
• Experience working with microservices-based architectures
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience working across multiple geographies and regulatory environments

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on React Native developer who can build scalable, secure, and high-performing mobile applications, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and help drive engineering excellence across the mobile platform. React web experience is preferred, and full-stack experience is considered an advantage.
