We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our Mobius team, a critical engineering group responsible for ingesting, transforming, and managing the data that powers NIA analytics. This is not a greenfield startup project. It is a highly scalable enterprise platform that sits at the center of a mature analytics ecosystem used by multiple product teams and customers worldwide.
We work with advanced technologies that include custom speech analytics, big data frameworks, and cloud deployments. Our team provides bedrock functionality for most of NiCE’s products, so you will contribute to a large, mature codebase.
This role requires genuine depth in SQL Server — you will analyze complex schemas, write and tune complex SQL, and solve hard data-layer problems as a core part of your day-to-day work, alongside solid C#/.NET backend development.
Your software development efforts will be based on the use of Anthropic AI. You will use AI to analyze requirements, implement code, and write automated test cases.
How will you make an impact?
- Design and implement backend application features in C#/.NET with a strong, hands-on data-access component.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL being well versed in SQL Server and Postgres
- Diagnose and resolve performance problems using execution plans, indexes, and diagnostic tools on both platforms
- Develop and maintain software using Anthropic AI
- Provide and review component-level software designs consistent with product requirements, architectural specifications, and project standards.
- Implement software designs with automated unit and integration tests.
- Recommend test cases to QA and Performance Test teams.
- Identify refactoring ideas for legacy code.
- Update user-facing product documentation for implemented features.
- Respond to escalated requests for production support, including off-hours in emergency situations.
Have you got what it takes?
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Strong C# / .NET backend development experience
- 4+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience in production environments
- Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres
- Strong T-SQL skills: stored procedures, functions, complex joins/subqueries
- Ability to read and act on execution plans; identifying and fixing slow queries
- Indexing strategy — knowing what to index and why
- Diagnosing locking/blocking/deadlocks
- Solid grasp of schema design and normalization tradeoffs
- Schema design and query tuning
- Differences in behavior/tooling Postgres vs. SQL Server.
- Strong personal motivation to create clean, high-quality code
- Experience with AI-assisted software development including Requirements analysis, System design, Code generation and refinement, and automated unit- and integration-level testing
- Familiarity with REST principles and implementation
- Windows application environment
You will have an advantage if you have:
- Experience using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle
- Experience migrating applications from SQL Server to Postgres
- Call/contact center technology development: voice, text, video
- Contributions to a major open source project
- Experience with asynchronous programming
- Experience with both cloud and on premise deployment
