Senior Project Engineer, R&D
Position Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of innovative orthopaedic products from concept through market launch within a regulated medical device environment. The role focuses on technical execution, product development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer, clinical, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position also provides guidance and technical support to engineering colleagues while contributing expertise to project activities.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with surgeons to gather input for design and evaluation of new Trauma products, participation in cadaver labs and consultant meetings, and developing implant and instruments.
What you will do:
- Develop customer-focused implant and instrument solutions.
- Engage with surgeons to drive Trauma product innovation through hands-on cadaver labs and consultant panel discussion.
- Participate in product development and design improvement activities within cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior engineers.
What you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering, Science, or a related field of study is required for this position (master’s degree is preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of product development experience in the medical device industry or equivalent.
- Ideal candidates should also possess the following skills/experiences:
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex product development initiatives from concept through release.
- Demonstrated ability to apply design controls within a regulated industry.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve work objectives both independently and as a leader/member of a team.
- Demonstrated experience with a parametric CAD design package. Pro/Engineer Preferred.

Ireland Pay Ranges:
- Ireland: €47,000 - €77,000 EUR Annual
