JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Product Manager is a hybrid product and design role on the product team: the person responsible for the full arc from problem to product. The role is responsible for leading discovery and UX research, defining product direction, and partnering with engineering on designing and building solutions, working hand-in-hand with our centralized design team for craft and consistency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shape the strategic direction of a live product by translating early signals and insights into priorities, investment decisions, and a clear vision for the product’s continued evolution.
• Drive product discovery and User Experience (UX) research, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights directly from users, district partners, and the market to inform product direction.
• Evaluate product performance and user engagement to surface insights, shape strategic priorities, and guide ongoing product evolution.
• Define clear, evidence-based product priorities and success metrics aligned with organizational goals and user needs.
• Partner closely with engineering to design and deliver solutions that address real user needs.
• Work hand-in-hand with the centralized design team to bring craft, systems, and visual consistency to the product.
• Champion an iterative, prototype-driven approach to product development, reducing risk through early and frequent learning.
• Own cross-functional alignment across school districts administrators, engineering, field customers, and executive leadership by translating priorities into clear strategic direction, decisions, and next Balance long-term vision with short-term execution, continuously prioritizing to maximize impact.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional sprints, aligning priorities, organizing work, and facilitating delivery to advance product outcomes.
• Iterate and refine agentic processes; identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate feedback to enhance effectiveness and scalability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• A demonstrable track record of having taken a real problem, framed it well, built a product or service around it, and shipped it, not just planned or consulted on it.
• Strong problem-solving instincts and the judgment to navigate hard constraints with limited information.
• 5+ years working on technology-powered products as a product manager, product designer, engineer, or UX researcher.
• Experience conducting UX research and translating user insights directly into product decisions.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to flex tone and depth across very different audiences, from a school district administrator to an engineer to an executive, leaving each of them feeling understood and clear on what’s next.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than authority, aligning cross-functional teams without formal reporting lines.
• Experience in EdTech or education, preferred.
• Hands-on experience with design tools (Figma or similar) and the ability to create or critique prototypes directly, preferred.
• Familiarity with AI or agent-based product development, preferred.
• We’re building tools for California schools, so proximity to CA is a plus.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
• Provide and maintain current TB clearance throughout employment.
• Reliable transportation is required to meet the needs of the position.
• While driving may not be a regular requirement, employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work-related purposes must maintain and provide Human Resources with proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

COMPENSATION:

Salary: $150,000.00

This is the targeted compensation for the position. A range of factors, including but not limited to; location, skills, experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
