The Senior Marketing Manager, Audience Growth & Content leads integrated marketing strategies that expand the reach, engagement, and performance of the company’s content, media products, events, and audience-facing initiatives.
This role develops cross-channel strategies for Business, Lifestyle/Luxury, and other assigned content categories across digital content, social media, email, print, streaming, video, podcasts, YouTube, owned-and-operated events, partner events, and emerging platforms.
The position manages marketing professionals, budgets, resources, and external partners while making decisions regarding campaign priorities, audience targeting, channel strategy, messaging, timelines, and execution. The Senior Marketing Manager partners closely with Content, Creative, PR, Events, Sales, and other stakeholders and is accountable for achieving established audience-growth, marketing, and broader business objectives.
Responsibilities

Develop and lead integrated audience-growth and content-marketing strategies aligned with the company’s business priorities, audience needs, market conditions, and growth objectives.
Lead multiple concurrent marketing initiatives across Business, Lifestyle/Luxury, digital content, social media, email, print, streaming, video, podcasts, YouTube, events, and emerging platforms.
Translate business priorities, consumer insights, content plans, and performance data into actionable marketing plans with defined target audiences, messaging, channel strategies, KPIs, timelines, budgets, and measurement plans.
Lead marketing for content, branded content, owned-and-operated and partner events, streaming and video programming, podcasts, YouTube, magazine products, and other audience-facing initiatives.
Develop audience acquisition, engagement, distribution, and retention strategies that support reach, traffic, viewership, listenership, attendance, subscriptions, conversions, and other established business objectives.
Lead event and partnership marketing, including promotional plans, audience acquisition strategies, partner materials, campaign assets, and on-site or digital activations for live events, conferences, awards programs, experiential activations, and special initiatives.
Make decisions regarding campaign priorities, channel selection, audience targeting, messaging, creative direction, resource deployment, timelines, and execution within established authority.
Develop and manage marketing budgets and forecasts; allocate financial, staffing, agency, vendor, technology, and promotional resources based on business priorities, performance, and expected return.
Manage, coach, and develop marketing professionals by establishing priorities, assigning work, providing feedback, and holding employees accountable for deliverables, performance, and established KPIs.
Partner with Content, Creative, PR, Events, Sales, and other stakeholders to coordinate promotional plans, campaign assets, messaging, content calendars, earned-media opportunities, branded-content initiatives, and event activations.
Use audience, marketing, financial, and competitive data to evaluate performance, identify trends and opportunities, optimize campaigns, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
Identify and implement AI-powered tools, agents, automated workflows, and marketing technologies that improve productivity, streamline processes, enhance analysis, and increase the efficiency of marketing operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential functions

Develop, execute, and evaluate integrated audience-growth and content-marketing campaigns across owned, earned, paid, partner, digital, social, email, print, video, audio, event, and emerging channels.
Manage multiple complex marketing initiatives while balancing competing priorities, stakeholders, budgets, resources, and deadlines.
Make timely decisions regarding marketing priorities, audience strategies, budgets, channels, resources, timelines, and execution.
Manage assigned budgets, forecasts, expenditures, vendors, agencies, and resource-allocation decisions.
Manage and develop employees, establish performance expectations, allocate work, provide feedback, and maintain accountability.
Analyze campaign, audience, financial, and business-performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Communicate strategies, risks, results, investment recommendations, and business implications clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Use marketing technology, analytics platforms, project-management systems, CRM and email tools, AI-powered tools, and other business applications necessary to perform the role.
Develop and review marketing strategies, creative briefs, promotional assets, presentations, reports, and other business materials.
Represent the company at events and activations, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or nonstandard hours as business needs require.
Travel occasionally to company locations, event venues, partner locations, or other business sites as needed.
Perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media, and 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including experience leading complex strategies, campaigns, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives; OR 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including experience leading complex strategies, campaigns, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing audience-growth, content-marketing, media-marketing, or integrated multi-channel marketing strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.
Experience marketing content, branded content, owned-and-operated and partner events, streaming or video programming, podcasts, YouTube, or other audience-facing media products.
Experience developing audience acquisition, engagement, distribution, and retention strategies across owned, earned, partner, digital, social, email, video, audio, print, and event channels.
Experience developing or leading marketing strategies for live events, conferences, awards programs, experiential activations, or similar audience-facing initiatives.
Strong understanding of audience development, social media, digital content distribution, email marketing, video, streaming, podcasts, events, SEO, and other audience-growth channels.
Experience managing marketing professionals, establishing performance expectations, allocating work and resources, and holding individuals or teams accountable for results.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, marketing investments, agencies, vendors, or external resources.
Experience making strategic and operational decisions involving competing priorities, limited resources, financial considerations, and business risk.
Experience partnering with Content, Creative, PR/Communications, Events, Sales, and other business stakeholders to execute coordinated marketing initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to interpret audience, campaign, financial, and business-performance data and convert findings into actionable marketing recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and lead cross-functional initiatives without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
Strong project-management, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, platforms, deadlines, and audience segments.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, including experience developing strategies, creative briefs, presentations, and performance recommendations.
Ability to identify and implement AI-powered tools, agents, automated workflows, and emerging technologies that improve marketing operations and business performance.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in media, publishing, entertainment, digital content, luxury/lifestyle, or another audience-driven business.
Experience supporting marketing initiatives across multiple content categories, audience segments, or business lines.
Familiarity with Google Analytics, social media analytics, YouTube Analytics, SEO tools, podcast analytics, email analytics, and related measurement platforms.
Familiarity with CRM, email marketing, social publishing, project-management, and marketing automation platforms.
Experience marketing both editorial and commercial or branded-content initiatives while maintaining appropriate editorial, brand, and business standards.
Experience managing agencies, consultants, contractors, and complex vendor relationships.
Experience presenting marketing strategies, budgets, performance results, and investment recommendations to senior or executive leadership.
