The Opportunity
This is a senior role spanning corporate positioning, media relations, B2B and B2C communications, investor audiences, thought leadership, executive profiling and reputation.
What you'll do
- Shape and evolve Coda’s corporate narrative as our business grows across markets, products and audiences.
- Develop clear positioning for corporate, B2B, B2C and investor audiences, grounded in Coda’s strategy, commercial priorities and position in the digital commerce ecosystem.
- Work closely with Coda’s leaders, Commercial, Government Relations and Marketing to connect business priorities with the external conversations shaping our industry.
- Ensure Coda has a clear and consistent point of view while adapting our story for different audiences, markets and moments.
- Own proactive media relations for Coda, with a particular focus on financial, business and technology media.
- Bring and maintain strong existing relationships with senior journalists and editors across leading international and regional publications, particularly in Singapore and Asia.
- Use those relationships and strong editorial judgement to identify where Coda has a credible story and secure meaningful coverage, interviews and commentary.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of stories across corporate developments, commercial partnerships, financial and business milestones, technology, industry trends and executive commentary.
- Lead media strategy around major announcements, including narrative development, pitching, briefings, interviews and follow-through.
- Work directly with journalists on complex or sensitive issues and provide sound counsel on when, where and how Coda should engage.
- Develop communications tailored to Coda’s key external audiences.
- For B2B audiences, work closely with Commercial and Marketing to strengthen Coda’s positioning with publishers, digital businesses, partners and the wider digital commerce ecosystem.
- For B2C audiences, identify stories and communications opportunities that strengthen the profile and relevance of Coda’s consumer businesses and propositions.
- For investor and financial audiences, articulate Coda’s strategy, market position, performance and growth story with clarity and credibility.
- Ensure these narratives resonate with their respective audiences while reinforcing a consistent Coda story.
- Provide clear, practical communications counsel to Coda’s senior leaders across important business, corporate and reputational matters.
- Understand their priorities, anticipate communications opportunities and risks, and bring an informed external perspective to their work.
- Shape distinctive external profiles for Coda’s leaders, with clear areas of authority and relevance.
- Identify and secure high-quality opportunities across media, conferences, industry forums, social channels and other influential platforms.
- Prepare executives for interviews and major external engagements, including messaging, speeches, presentations, talking points and briefing materials.
- Bring strong judgement to which opportunities Coda and its leaders should pursue.
- Turn Coda’s expertise, data and market experience into strong points of view on digital commerce, payments, gaming, technology and the policy environment shaping these sectors.
- Lead the development of research, white papers, opinion pieces, media commentary, executive content and industry presentations.
- Work closely with Commercial and Government Relations to identify emerging trends and issues where Coda has something credible and differentiated to contribute.
- Ensure our thought leadership has substance, adds something useful to the conversation and supports clear business and reputation objectives.
- Lead the Corporate Affairs workstream on using AI to streamline and improve content production across the function.
- Introduce practical AI workflows across research, synthesis, drafting, content adaptation, media intelligence and distribution.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work and increase the team’s capacity for higher-value strategic work.
- Stay current on emerging AI tools and capabilities and determine where they can materially improve the quality, speed and effectiveness of Corporate Affairs.
- Establish appropriate standards for accuracy, quality control and human oversight.
- This is an important part of the role. We are looking for someone who is already highly capable with AI and can bring practical experience and ideas to how we work.
- Partner with People & Talent and the CEO’s Office on priority internal communications and talent brand initiatives.
- Support communications around major company developments, leadership changes, organisational priorities and other moments that require clear and thoughtful employee communications.
- Work with People & Talent to strengthen Coda’s talent brand, bringing our culture, people and employee experience to life externally and connecting it with our broader corporate positioning.
- Advise leaders on internal messaging and help translate business strategy and decisions into communications that are clear and relevant for employees.
- Identify opportunities to better connect our internal and external narratives, particularly around Coda’s growth, leadership, culture and employee experience.
- Lead communications around significant company developments, partnerships, regulatory milestones and other important corporate moments.
- Develop communications strategies that consider the full range of audiences, stakeholders and channels rather than treating each announcement as a standalone activity.
- Partner across teams and markets to ensure strong execution, clear ownership and consistent messaging.
- Support reputation and issues management, including messaging, reactive statements, Q&As, stakeholder communications and executive preparation.
- Be comfortable working at pace when issues are sensitive, information is evolving and good judgement matters.
What you'll bring
- Strong existing relationships with financial, business and technology journalists, particularly across Singapore and Asia, with international relationships highly valued.
- A proven track record of securing high-quality earned media through strong relationships, compelling stories and sound editorial judgement.
- Creativity and exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex subjects clear, concise and interesting.
- Strong experience developing corporate and business positioning across B2B, B2C, investor and corporate audiences.
- A strong track record in executive profiling and thought leadership.
- Experience communicating business strategy, performance and growth to sophisticated corporate and financial audiences.
- Strong commercial awareness and genuine curiosity about how businesses grow.
- An understanding of the intersection between business, regulation, policy and reputation.
- Excellent judgement, particularly around sensitive corporate, regulatory and reputational issues.
- Confidence working directly with senior executives and the ability to provide constructive communications counsel.
- The ability to work effectively across Commercial, Government Relations, Marketing, People & Talent and other functions.
- Strong ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities across markets and time zones.
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
- An international outlook and a strong interest in technology, payments, gaming and digital commerce
Strong AI capability is a must
This goes beyond using AI to draft copy. We are looking for someone who uses AI intelligently across research, synthesis, content creation, workflow automation and communications intelligence, and who can lead the adoption of better AI-enabled ways of working across Corporate Affairs.
