IG’s Data function is a central capability serving both central and divisional business lines across the entire IG estate. The Data Engineering team is responsible for the platforms that underpin analytics, reporting, compliance, and client-facing data products, and that will increasingly power AI and machine-learning use cases across the firm.

The current data landscape reflects IG’s growth: a combination of GCP-native capabilities, on-premises systems, and a legacy AWS data platform. The strategic direction — endorsed by the CDO and Executive — is clear: consolidate onto GCP, raise the bar on data quality, and enable self-service access to trusted data for teams across the business.

Your role in the Team’s Success:

Our Machine Learning Engineering team is at the forefront of implementation data-driven solutions that give our clients a competitive edge. We deliver AI/ML products that power critical decision-making across the business and enhance our trading platforms with innovative features.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement and support of AI/ML solutions as well as internal tools and systems from time to time stepping up to the role of project lead when required.

• Supporting other teams as a Subject Matter Expert in the field of AI/ML solutions as well as driving the AI/ML expertise across the company.

• Support and Maintenance of the existing products.

What You'll Need:

• Proficiency in Python (experience with other languages is a plus)

• Strong AI/ML expertise, familiarity with the latest techniques

• Solid understanding of database systems

• Containerisation experience (Docker)

• Working experience with ML orchestration tools (Kubeflow/Airflow/Prefect)

• Managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure (Terraform) on different platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure/on-premises)

• Experience with Python AI & ML frameworks/libraries (NumPy/Pandas/TensorFlow/PyTorch/Pydantic/LangChain)

• MLOps practices knowledge (deployment, versioning, monitoring, etc.)
