About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Geospatial Manager to join our leadership team in Crawley.
This is a senior leadership role focused on people, operational performance, client relationships, business growth and strategic delivery. While experience within surveying or geospatial services would be advantageous, we recognise that the leadership, operational and commercial skills required for this position can be gained across a range of industries.
As Senior Geospatial Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams, ensuring efficient operational delivery, supporting business growth, strengthening key client relationships and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing organisation, working closely with senior leadership to support the continued development of Vision Survey's geospatial division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop managers, team leaders and technical teams across the geospatial division
- Create a high-performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance reviews, one-to-one meetings and development planning
- Support succession planning, recruitment and workforce development
- Promote employee engagement, wellbeing and retention
- Oversee day-to-day operations across the geospatial division, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction
- Allocate resources effectively to maximise utilisation, productivity and project performance
- Support project planning, operational coordination and risk management activities
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and industry best practice
- Contribute to forecasting, capacity planning and operational reporting
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded
- Support business growth through client engagement, lead generation and opportunity development
- Prepare and review quotations and commercial proposals
- Support tender submissions, framework applications, PQQs and ITTs
- Monitor project performance, utilisation and profitability against agreed targets
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities
- Champion innovation, digital workflows and operational improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and client experience
- Represent Vision Survey at client meetings and industry events
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading operational, engineering, technical or delivery-focused teams
- Strong people management and leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Experience managing operational performance, resources and workloads within a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, utilisation, profitability or operational performance metrics
- Excellent communication, influencing and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to drive organisational improvement and deliver change
- Strong planning, problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience within surveying, geospatial, construction, infrastructure, utilities, aviation, engineering or related sectors
- Familiarity with project delivery, asset management or operational leadership environments
- Understanding of technical service delivery businesses
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations
- Knowledge of quality management systems, operational governance and compliance processes
