Senior Finance Project Manager

Fastned exists because twelve years ago, driving an electric car across Europe meant planning your route around whether you would make it. We have spent since 2012 building the answer: a fast-charging network you can actually rely on, running entirely on solar and wind. More than 400 stations across nine countries now, on our way to 1,000 by 2030. Every one of them is a bet that clean energy wins on the commercial case as well as the moral one, and so far the bet is paying off. Building that network takes more than construction. It takes the teams behind it, and those teams are being built right now, which means you would have a hand in deciding how the work gets done rather than stepping into something already settled.

Charging stations do not get built without someone financing them. As Senior Finance Project Manager you will lead the projects that pay for Fastned's growth, starting with a structured finance and bank financing re-tender in the Netherlands that reaches into construction, network development, public affairs and every corner of Finance. You will run the steering committee, bring the right people into the room, and keep something this size moving. This is a role for someone who is energised rather than daunted by that, and who would rather make complex work happen than be the specialist inside it.

The role

We are looking for a Finance Project Manager to lead and coordinate large, strategically important projects with a significant financial impact on Fastned.

This is a cross-functional role at the heart of the Finance domain. You will work across several finance disciplines and collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the business. Examples of projects include bank financing, M&A execution, treasury management systems, strategic financing initiatives, and other complex projects requiring strong financial analysis, coordination and execution.

You will bring structure to complex topics, connect the right experts, and ensure that projects progress from analysis and decision-making through to implementation. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and offers broad exposure to Fastned’s business, financing strategy and growth ambitions.

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate large finance projects involving multiple disciplines, stakeholders and workstreams.

• Manage projects from initial scoping and analysis through to execution and completion.

• Coordinate contributions from teams such as funding and treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, controlling, accounting, tax, and legal where relevant.

• Prepare high-quality financial analyses, business cases, models and decision materials for senior management and other stakeholders.

• Assess the financial impact, risks, opportunities and dependencies associated with strategic projects.

• Translate complex financial and business topics into clear recommendations and actionable plans.

• Establish project governance, timelines, milestones, decision points and reporting.

• Identify issues early, manage dependencies and ensure timely escalation when required.

• Support bank financing projects, including financial analysis, preparation of financing materials, lender coordination, negotiations and execution.

• Support M&A execution, including financial analysis, due diligence, transaction planning and post-completion activities.

• Contribute to strategic financing and capital allocation projects.

• Work with internal and external advisors, lenders, investors and other counterparties when required.

• Help improve the way Fastned manages cross-functional finance projects and embeds learnings into recurring processes.
  

What you bring

• 7+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, investment banking, transaction services, corporate finance, consulting, project management or a comparable field.

• Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.

• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and assess the financial implications of strategic decisions.

• Experience with bank financing, M&A transactions, due diligence or other high-impact corporate finance initiatives.

• Excellent project management and organisational skills.

• The ability to work independently, create structure in ambiguous situations and drive projects forward.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders.

• A pragmatic and hands-on approach, combined with sound judgement and attention to detail.

• The ability to balance strategic thinking with execution.

• A relevant university degree in finance, economics, business administration, engineering or a related discipline.

• Professional fluency in English. Additional European languages are a plus.
