Senior Data Analyst (Data Quality & Reporting)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Analyst (Data Quality & Reporting) based in Brazil.

This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data and reporting within a large-scale Finance data platform modernization. You will validate curated data against trusted Finance benchmarks and confirm that migrated reports and dashboards deliver results consistent with established sources. The position combines strong SQL expertise, data quality analysis, reconciliation, and enterprise BI reporting. You will investigate variances, identify root causes, and work closely with Data Engineering and Finance stakeholders to resolve data issues. You will also create visible quality reporting and provide evidence needed for key delivery and cutover milestones. The role is highly focused on the data and numbers rather than pipeline infrastructure, making analytical rigor and attention to detail essential. You will contribute directly to building confidence in modernized financial data and reporting.

• Define and execute data quality checks and reconciliation logic against curated data layers, comparing results with approved Finance benchmarks and closed accounting periods.
• Validate migrated, re-pointed, and modernized reports and dashboards against legacy-source outputs, including parallel-run comparisons to confirm that old and new systems reconcile within agreed tolerances.
• Profile data, investigate quality issues and reconciliation variances, and collaborate with Data Engineering teams to identify, document, and resolve root causes.
• Build and maintain data quality dashboards and reports using Power BI or an equivalent enterprise BI platform, ensuring quality status, findings, and known variances remain visible to Finance and delivery stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, reconciliation requirements, and quality thresholds for individual reporting deliverables.
• Produce acceptance evidence for delivery gates, including reconciliation results, parallel-run comparisons, validation documentation, and sign-off packages required for successful cutover.
• Document data quality rules, validation approaches, known issues, and supporting processes in a clear format that can be maintained by the client’s internal team after handoff.
• Apply structured data analysis and reconciliation practices to ensure reporting outputs are accurate, complete, consistent, and aligned with established financial expectations.

Requirements

• Solid professional experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or in a closely related analytical role, with strong hands-on SQL skills for querying, validating, investigating, and reconciling data.
• Hands-on experience building, validating, or maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI or a comparable enterprise BI platform.
• Experience applying a data quality or reconciliation framework or methodology, such as dbt tests, Great Expectations, or structured manual reconciliation practices.
• Comfortable working with financial and accounting data, including the constraints and validation requirements associated with closed accounting periods.
• Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, data profiling, reporting accuracy, and issue investigation.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to identify discrepancies and clearly document findings, root causes, and resolution requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present quality findings and supporting evidence to business and client stakeholders.
• Fluent English at approximately B2 level, with confidence coordinating quality findings, validation results, and delivery evidence directly with international stakeholders.
• Experience with financial or general ledger reporting domains, including charts of accounts, financial dimensions, and close processes, is a strong advantage.
• Experience validating report or dashboard migrations from legacy source systems to modern data platforms is highly valued.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, particularly Snowflake, is an advantage.
• Previous experience in mortgage, lending, banking, or broader financial-services reporting is a plus.
