Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

As a Senior AP Accountant, you are a key member of our Finance team. You ensure that the Accounts Payable process runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently across multiple international entities. But your role goes beyond processing invoices: you contribute ideas, solve problems, and identify opportunities to continuously improve the way we work.

• You ensure that supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time for multiple international entities.
• You oversee VAT compliance, internal controls, and financial procedures, ensuring that everything is handled in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• You closely monitor supplier accounts, perform reconciliations, and investigate outstanding items or complex invoice and payment discrepancies until a solution is found.
• You support month-end and year-end closing activities, audits, and financial reporting, ensuring that accurate information is available when needed.
• You identify opportunities to make our processes more efficient and are eager to take the lead in process improvement initiatives and automation projects within the Procure-to-Pay cycle.
• You are the primary point of contact for all Accounts Payable-related matters, both for colleagues within DESOTEC and for our suppliers.

In short, you are an experienced Accounts Payable professional who is eager to make a real impact.

• You hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field and have several years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
• You are accurate, well-organized, and able to work independently. Deadlines do not intimidate you, and you maintain a clear overview, even when managing multiple entities and cases simultaneously.
• You have a solid understanding of VAT regulations, financial processes, and internal controls, and you believe it is important that everything is handled accurately and in compliance with applicable rules and policies.
• You are a natural problem solver. An invoice or payment discrepancy? You will investigate it thoroughly until you have identified both the root cause and the solution.
• You are always thinking one step ahead. You recognize opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline processes, and you are happy to take the initiative to make them happen.
• You communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and suppliers. You are comfortable working in English, and experience in an international environment is considered a strong asset.

You will join a team of 8 accountants as part of a broader Finance department consisting of 25 colleagues. In this role, you will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
