We are seeking an experienced nurse leader to provide leadership for our Emergency Department and Special Care Unit (SCU). This is an opportunity for a strong clinical leader to join established, experienced teams and help shape the future of emergency and critical care services in our community.
Our 9-bed Emergency Department cares for more than 12,000 patients annually and serves as a state-designated trauma center. Our 4-bed SCU provides specialized care within our critical access hospital.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and oversight for Emergency Department and SCU operations.
- Lead, develop and engage experienced clinical teams.
- Partner with physicians, frontline leaders and interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality patient care.
- Support trauma, cardiac and stroke initiatives.
- Lead your teams through the upcoming implementation of a new electronic health record.
- Support nursing excellence and organizational initiatives.
- Oversee staffing, resources, quality, performance and departmental operations.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, collaborative nurse leader who can step into an established team, build trust and lead with credibility, accountability and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
Leadership experience matters more than title. We welcome experienced nurse leaders who have demonstrated the ability to lead people, manage clinical operations and make sound decisions in a complex healthcare environment.
Emergency Department leadership experience is strongly preferred. Experience in trauma, critical access hospitals or other complex acute care environments is also valuable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Five (5) years of relevant leadership experience required.
- Current Montana RN License or a multistate compact license with authorization to practice nursing in Montana required.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare environment, healthcare reform and care delivery systems as they apply to the clinical practices of the assigned areas.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and computerized clinical documentation systems.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first.
- ALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
