Quality Control Manager

At glassybaby we make colorful, handblown glass votives in our Seattle & Redmond Locations. The Quality Control Manager at the Redmond hotshop will be countable for all products created on site. This individual will ensure glassybaby meets quality standards.

• Examine and oversee examination of all glassybaby products flaws and variations according to set standards.

• Process firsts, reanneals and seconds into their correct locations into data bases, various quality control spread sheets and the warehouse

• Insure inventory accuracy and accounting of all products

• Gather and track performance data for each team. Insure accuracy and integrity of the data.

• Routinely meet with individual glass blowers or teams to go over reoccurring quality issues, suggesting corrective action. Monitor progress and provide feedback.

• Manage all QC personnel and insure that they are adhering to all qc standards and procedures

• Ensure that new products are correctly entered into data bases and Netsuite inventory and are correctly received by the warehouse staff.

• Responsible for the staffing, training, retraining and management of all Berkeley based QC personnel.

• Communication regarding inventory status, and escalation of production issues.

• As it relates to product quality, be a point of contact for local retail and WEB managers.

• Inform appropriate staff of issues that may indicate equipment malfunction, color failure, or operator error.

• Work with Production Manager to ensure any quality issues are documented and reported systematically to the glassblower teams as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.

• 5 years’ experience in furnace glass, or equivalent highly preferred

• Ability to comprehensively understand hot shop operational and production process

• High standard of attention to detail.

• Professional, courteous, and clear verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multitask, managing many different projects with varying degrees of urgency and frequent changes.

• Ability to think quickly and critically, with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs.

• Ability to lift to 35 pounds.
