Program Representative II/Sr/Spec – Construction Support (CTF)
Overview
The Program Rep for D681 must possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as requirements of assigned tasks dictate.
The COLUMBIA (CLB) Class Submarine Program is the Nation’s Top Strategic Defense Priority. Construction is underway and requires continuous testing of Motor Modules (MMs) in order to meet production demands. Receiving MMs from Quonset Point (QP) and Rhoads Industries as well as shipment to Groton requires significant coordination to be successful. The Program Representative will work with multiple cross-functional teams to provide programmatic direction, oversight, assistance with timely decisions, purchasing demands, schedule adherence, and priorities to support a continuous production testing state. This position is dedicated Program Support for the Integrated Power System (IPS) Compatibility Test Facility (CTF).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify critical material needs for near-term activities
- Drive timely support to Ops plan for execution
- Provide input to weekly / daily reports of issues and actions
- Identify issues and potential issues (based on status reports / presentations / emails) before schedule impacts are realized
- Schedule and run meetings to help drive decisions and problem resolution as well as burn down liabilities to key events
- Coordinate, attend, and present at reviews with EB management and government organizations
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement efforts to support program goals
This is a high-visibility position with regular interaction with senior leadership. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills related to major moves and testing activities. Fosters a positive team environment while effectively collaborating with all levels of management and maintaining a professional, customer focused approach.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3-10 years of experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, engineering, advance planning, material management, or production control planning
- Available to travel up to 50%
Preferred:
- Experience in the CLB Program
- Groton Shipyard experience
- Bachelors Degree of Science or higher in Engineering
- Knowledge of CLB liability tracking
- Computer skills including MS project
- FLG/BLG graduate
