We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Program Advisory, Consulting & Execution Senior Manager, Hybrid based in Mumbai, India. The Program Advisory, Consulting & Execution (PACE) organization is Citi’s internal consulting and program execution team. Operating from Finance with a firmwide mandate, PACE serves as a strategic internal partner delivering management consulting, program advisory, and end-to-end execution support for Citi’s high-value initiatives and business transformation priorities. The organization partners closely with functional and business leadership to deliver significant, measurable business outcomes while retaining critical knowledge and reducing reliance on external consulting firms.
The PACE team is a global, interdisciplinary team comprised of seasoned professionals with deep financial services, program advisory, and management consulting expertise. With team members located in eight cities across five countries—Canada, Costa Rica, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States—PACE provides continuous global support, accelerated delivery, and rapid mobilization to solve the firm's most critical challenges.
Summary
- Lead the end-to-end execution of high-impact workstreams in cross-fun- ctional programs, driving process transformation, and operational improvements across the firm.
- Act as a subject matter expert in program and project management, leveraging structured PM practices to guide execution and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build and manage strong partnerships with senior project stakeholders and clients, serving as a key liaison to ensure alignment and facilitate collaboration.
- Drive accountability for project performance, holding both yourself and the team responsible for the quality of deliverables and adherence to established procedures.
- Operate effectively within a matrix management structure, reporting to senior leadership while collaborating closely with day-to-day engagement managers.
- Serve as an example of program management excellence, leveraging your experience to influence outcomes.
In this role, you are expected to:
- Drive analysis of complex data and business processes, developing initial hypotheses and turning ambiguous inputs into actionable, data-driven solutions.
- Support target operating model and process transformation initiatives by partnering with stakeholders to define business requirements and target states
- Work closely with Technology teams throughout delivery, helping teams apply business requirements in solution design, implementation, and testing.
- Define program requirements, objectives, and plans, establishing the structure and controls necessary to ensure successful delivery and mitigate ambiguity.
- Lead direct cross-functional teams within a complex global matrix environment, mobilizing diverse stakeholders toward a common goal. May assist on the program with training and coaching of junior staff with development needs.
- Collaborate and consult with executive leadership, stakeholders, project leads, executive leadership, sponsors, and business partners to clarify and define project requirements.
- Provide objective review and challenge for program deliverables, plans and other requirements.
- Prepare and deliver clear, impactful communications for project sponsors and senior stakeholders regarding analyses, project outcomes, and strategic recommendations.
- Act as a change catalyst by identifying opportunities for improvement and helping stakeholders understand how new ideas and solutions can benefit program objectives.
- Build and manage relationships with all key stakeholders, collaborating closely to define scope, manage expectations, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuously develop re-usable intellectual capital, contributing relevant content and research to the team’s knowledge base to be leveraged across the organization.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in management consulting and financial services, with a proven track record of managing complex, end-to-end projects and programs using a structured methodology.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is also preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for creating compelling, data-driven presentations.
- Experience working with complex financial services organizations delivering operating model and process transformation initiatives, authoring business requirements across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, and defining future-state operating models.
- Experience working with Technology teams across the delivery lifecycle, including requirements development, solution implementation, and testing support.
- Expertise in a range of analytical and project management competencies, including hypothesis generation, root cause identification, process mapping & improvement, operating model design, and business case development, applied within an Agile or similarly structured delivery framework.
- Strong familiarity with digitalization concepts, emerging technology trends including AI, and their practical application to transform business processes within a financial services context.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a team-based, collaborative model, effectively guiding diverse stakeholders and project teams toward common goals in a complex, matrixed environment.
- A self-starter with a strong ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and solve complex problems by structuring analyses and turning incomplete or conflicting inputs into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively distill complex information and impactfully present analyses, plans, and recommendations to all levels of the organization.
- An innovative and curious mindset with a passion for improving the employee and customer experience.
- Able to act with a high sense of urgency and a detail-oriented approach to achieving goals.
