The Opportunity

Springboard is hiring Product Engineers: full-stack engineers who work directly with our operational teams to understand a problem, shape the solution, and ship a working product end to end. You won't be handed a spec. You'll sit with the people who run the business, figure out what they need, and own it from first conversation through design, build, deployment and iteration.

GenAI is central to how we work, both in the products we ship and in how we write software.

Depending on experience, you'll join as a Software Engineer II or Senior Software Engineer. This is a remote role based in India. Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in India to be considered for this position.

What you'll do

• Work directly with operational partners to understand workflows and constraints, and turn them into scoped, buildable solutions
• Own features end to end: data model, backend, frontend, deployment, instrumentation, and post-launch iteration
• Build GenAI-powered capabilities (LLM integrations, agents, RAG, workflow automation) where they measurably improve outcomes for students or operators
• Use AI-assisted development (coding agents, AI code review) as a default part of how you build
• Make pragmatic trade-offs: ship small, measure, iterate
• Own the reliability of what you ship through testing, code review, production support, and paying down tech debt along the way
• Communicate progress, trade-offs, and scope decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• At Senior level: lead ambiguous, multi-stakeholder projects and mentor other engineers

What we're looking for

Must have

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the industry
• Strong full-stack skills: backend (Python/Django preferred) and frontend (React preferred; Angular or Vue also fine)
• Solid SQL and data modeling
• Hands-on production experience with a major cloud platform (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure fine): deploying, operating, and debugging services
• Hands-on GenAI experience: you've built at least one feature or tool on LLM APIs (prompting, tool use, retrieval, evaluation) and use AI coding tools in your daily work
• A track record of shipping products end to end, including defining requirements directly with business or operational users
• Clear, direct communication with non-engineers

Good to have

• Kubernetes (GKE) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with an LMS, especially Canvas
• BigQuery, analytics pipelines, or event instrumentation (e.g., Segment)
• Agent frameworks or MCP
• Refactoring complex systems or decomposing monoliths
