Role Summary

We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to assist with accurate, timely payroll processing for our workforce. This role will handle payroll administration, ensure compliance with applicable tax and labor regulations, and serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract staff
Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation elements
Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy across pay periods
Process statutory deductions and contributions (e.g., income tax withholding, social security/national insurance, health surcharge) in accordance with applicable jurisdictional requirements
Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee pay inquiries promptly and professionally
Support year-end payroll processes, tax filings, and audits
Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policy
Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure new hires, terminations, and status changes are reflected accurately in payroll
Process leave balances, PTO, and unpaid leave adjustments
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee data

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• College-level accounting coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
• Certification in payroll processing,
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with sound decision making
• Strong problem-solving
• Knowledge of payroll software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
