What Will You Do as an Occupational Therapist?

As an Occupational Therapist at Westmoreland Manor, you'll evaluate each person's individual abilities and challenges and develop treatment plans focused on helping them achieve greater safety, function and independence.

Your role may include:

• Performing comprehensive Occupational Therapy evaluations
• Developing individualized plans of care and functional goals
• Addressing activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting and self-care
• Improving upper-extremity strength, coordination, range of motion and functional use
• Addressing balance, endurance and functional mobility as they relate to everyday activities
• Providing therapeutic exercise and functional activities
• Evaluating and training patients in adaptive equipment and compensatory strategies
• Addressing safety awareness and fall-prevention strategies
• Educating patients, families and caregivers
• Supervising and collaborating with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
• Working closely with PT, SLP, nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as clinically appropriate
• Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation

The goal isn't simply completing a treatment session.

It's helping someone regain the ability to dress themselves, get to the bathroom safely, participate in a favorite activity, return home, or do more for themselves than they could yesterday.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current or eligible Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound clinical judgment and a patient-first approach
• Ability to collaborate effectively with COTAs and the interdisciplinary team
• Skilled nursing, geriatric or rehabilitation experience is a plus, but not required
• Experienced OTs and new graduates are encouraged to apply
