OPPORTUNITY:

HEABC has an opportunity for an 11-month contract for a Network Specialist (the Specialist). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology & Support, the Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving HEABC’s on-premises and hybrid technology infrastructure. The role works across server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backups, disaster recovery, identity services, network services and infrastructure monitoring.

The Specialist performs complex technical troubleshooting, supports infrastructure projects and provides operational support for production systems. The position participates in the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, lifecycle planning, and system upgrades.

Responsibilities Include:

• Administer, maintain and support HEABC’s on-premises and hybrid infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, operating systems, storage, backup platforms, identity services and related configurations.
• Maintain and support VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, resource allocation, capacity monitoring, patching and lifecycle planning.
• Support Microsoft infrastructure services, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and certificate-related services.
• Administer and support enterprise storage, backup and recovery platforms, including backup monitoring, recovery testing, retention configuration and operational troubleshooting.
• Monitor the health, availability, capacity and performance of infrastructure systems and take corrective action where required.
• Plan and perform routine infrastructure maintenance, including operating system updates, firmware upgrades, system patches, vulnerability remediation and hardware replacement.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a BSc in Computer Science or Information Systems and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.

• Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and related infrastructure services.
• Strong experience supporting VMware virtualization environments, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage connectivity, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery technologies.
• Experience with Azure Site Recovery or similar technologies is considered an asset.
• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp or equivalent technologies.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting firewall, application delivery or network technologies such as Palo Alto, F5 and HPE/Aruba is considered an asset.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple operational and project responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues and recommendations to non-technical partners.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, provide technical guidance and take ownership of work through to completion.

Salary Range: $76,111 to $99,895

Typical Hiring Range: $76,111 to $95,138

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
