About the Team

The Consumer Marketing team is committed to bringing DoorDash’s mission of empowering local economies to life for consumers across Canada. By building intelligent, last-mile delivery technology for Canadian cities, DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about — helping grow those businesses and the communities that support them.

To bring this mission to life, we’re looking for a marketer who will sit at the intersection of growth, brand and operations to help execute integrated marketing strategies for our consumer business at DoorDash Canada. As part of New Verticals, we aim to grow our non-restaurant businesses – including grocery, convenience, alcohol, retail and more. This role will help drive acquisition, retention, and habituation of consumers across New Verticals in Canada, and will make an impact by exercising influence, collaboration, and creative problem-solving across teams.

About the Role

As Manager, you will own the day-to-day strategy and execution of our New Vertical acquisition, retention, and habituation efforts in Canada, helping define who we target, where we target, and how we communicate to consumers, in partnership with your manager and the New Verticals Strategy & Operations team. This position blends product marketing with growth marketing initiatives, giving you the opportunity to craft innovative campaigns and solutions that get Canadian consumers to try, come back to, and build lasting habits with DoorDash’s New Verticals.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own the day-to-day strategy and execution of New Vertical acquisition, retention, and habituation campaigns in Canada.
  • Own the launch of new New Verticals Merchants on the DoorDash platform, driving awareness and trials for these new partners.
  • Get the opportunity to work on both 0 to 1 tests and always-on programs that let you drive impact across the full New Vertical consumer journey, from first order to habitual use.
  • Act as a go-to expert on the New Vertical consumer, deeply understanding their pain points across the acquisition, retention, and habituation lifecycle.
  • Help develop and execute the consumer strategy (the “what” and “how”), encompassing goals, category focus, and core value proposition, keeping the Canadian consumer at the heart of our approach.
  • Partner cross-functionally across Brand, Creative, Retention, and Performance Marketing to bring the strategy to life with campaigns and initiatives across paid, owned, earned, and in-app channels.
  • Interface and collaborate frequently with counterparts in product, strategy + operations, analytics, and finance to execute integrated strategies and report out on key initiatives / campaigns.
  • Track and report on primary metrics for your workstream, including iGOV, iMAU, New Trials, as well as efficiency and quality metrics
  • Stay current on marketing best practices, Canadian cultural trends, and the competitive landscape.

We’re excited about you because…

You have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing in a corporate or startup environment
  • Fluency across the marketing mix, with an understanding of marketing principles across the full funnel, including both acquisition and retention/lifecycle marketing
  • The ability to connect with people, build relationships and influence without authority
  • A strategic, business-minded approach; you find trends in the data and look to gather audience-first insights
  • A creative and collaborative inclination; you love working with a team and solving challenging problems in new ways
  • An extraordinary bias for action; you’re dependable, self-motivated and able to multi-task
  • A track record of delivering measurable results through integrated marketing campaigns
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Paid marketing experience preferred
  • CRM or lifecycle marketing experience a plus
