Manager Assurance and Business Continuity Clerk Grade: 11/12 Employment Type: Temporary, Full Time until 30 September 2027 Salary Range: $154,231 - $178,369, Plus super Location: Parramatta or Orange (Flexible working available). Client Commercial Solutions (C CS) supports GSS by strengthening governance, managing client relationships, and providing assurance, commercial, and financial oversight to enable effective and reliable shared service delivery. About the role GSS is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to manage our assurance and business continuity functions and help strengthen organisational resilience across a large and complex shared services environment. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio spanning assurance, audit, risk, compliance, business continuity and critical incident response. Working closely with subject matter experts, customer agencies and other key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring GSS meets its operational and regulatory obligations while continuously improving controls, governance and preparedness The Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape assurance and business continuity capability within GSS. Reporting to the Director Governance and Assurance, you will oversee a key divisional portfolio responsible for strengthening resilience across critical government services. The role offers a high level of autonomy, a diverse stakeholder environment, and the opportunity to lead a capable team while delivering initiatives that have a tangible impact across GSS its customer agencies. Whether leading assurance activities, coordinating critical incident preparedness, responding to emerging risks, or shaping business continuity strategies, you will play a key role in ensuring GSS remains resilient, accountable, and trusted as the shared services provider to over 100 NSW government agencies. What you’ll do · Lead the GSS’ assurance, audit, risk, compliance, business continuity, and critical incident response programs · Manage internal and external audit activities, including oversight of audit providers, liaising with the Audit Office of NSW, and implementation of audit recommendations. · Maintain divisional risk registers and provide expert advice on risk identification, controls and mitigation strategies. · Oversee compliance obligations, attestations, policies and reporting to ensure adherence to legislative and whole-of-government requirements. · Lead and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Critical Incident Response programs, ensuring frameworks and plans are tested and effective. · Build strong relationships with customer agencies, service providers and government stakeholders to support coordinated continuity planning and incident preparedness. · Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, resilience and continuous improvement What you’ll bring We are looking for a collaborative and strategic leader who can operate confidently in a complex and fast-paced environment. You will bring: · Extensive experience in assurance, audit, risk management, compliance, business continuity or related disciplines. · Strong understanding of NSW Government governance, risk and control frameworks, and compliance obligations. · Experience leading assurance reviews, managing audits and driving the implementation of recommendations. · Demonstrated capability in developing, maintaining and testing business continuity and critical incident response arrangements. · Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation. · Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level reports, briefings and recommendations. · Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. · The ability to inspire others through change, build capability, manage performance effectively and create an environment where people can thrive and deliver results. · Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in a complex environment.
