Maintenance Technician

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to diagnose problems and make repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has experience maintaining industrial machinery, forklifts, electrical systems, and/or facility equipment and enjoys solving problems and keeping production moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing issues.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Inspect equipment to identify wear, defects, or potential problems before they result in downtime.
• Assist with the installation, setup, relocation, and startup of new machinery and equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager and Operations team to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize production downtime.
• Follow established safety procedures and OSHA requirements while performing maintenance work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area.
• Participate in safety training and department meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar hands-on maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with forklift maintenance and repair preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
• Plumbing experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and other documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
