Main Grade Lecturer - Aviation and Travel Lecturer

We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and learning to work within our Business and Travel team.

Aviation and Travel lecturers are at the heart of the Aviation section of our Business, Travel and IT Team at Barnet and Southgate College. Staff will work with students of all ages, ranging from 16 upwards! Working across different qualifications and levels, including (but not limited to) Level 1 through to Level 6 courses. The team consistently has some of the highest attendance, achievement and success rates at the college!

The role will require individuals with knowledge and skills in a relevant Business or Travel subject area. They will work with a fantastic, high performing team who work together to support and develop each other to provide the best outcomes for our learners. The individuals will have excellent organisational skills, classroom management and time management skills but will also be able to develop and grow these skills with the support of the team.

· Teaching and Learning: To provide outstanding, high quality teaching, learning and assessment that is forward thinking and will shape future thinking for the better!

· Ambitious Standards: Act as a personal tutor who supports the highest levels of attendance, whilst also actively improving retention, motivation, and progression through targeted support, coaching, and intervention. As a personal tutor you will actively engage with parents.

· Student Success: Enable diverse learners (16+) to achieve some of the highest pass rates, allowing for progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education, and develop real-world business and travel industry skills.

· Engaging Teaching: Use innovative teaching (including digital/ILT strategies) to increase student participation, confidence, and independent learning habits.

· Supportive Teamwork: Play an active role in a collaborative department that evolves with the changing business and travel sectors, helping the college remain innovative and employment-focused.

· Wider Thinking: Support employer engagement, and enrichment activities that raise aspirations and open pathways into business and travel careers that learners may not have had the opportunity to access beforehand.
