Position Summary

As a Crew Member (Driver) within our Installation division, you will support residential and commercial landscape construction projects by performing hands-on installation work and safely transporting crews, equipment, and materials to and from job sites. This role combines physical field work with driving responsibilities and plays an important part in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to Sunrise Landscape quality standards.

This team member works closely with Crew Leaders, Superintendents, and Project Managers to execute daily work plans and maintain project schedules. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and capable of working outdoors in Florida conditions for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities

As one of our Crew Members, you will:

Landscape Installation Services

• Perform landscape installation tasks including planting trees, shrubs, and groundcover; laying sod; mulching; grading; and site cleanup.

• Dig holes, trenches, and prepare job sites for installation activities.

• Haul and install topsoil, greens mix, gravel, sand, sod, and plant materials.

• Support project turnover and punch list completion as needed.

Equipment & Vehicle Operation

• Safely drive company trucks and trailers to and from assigned project locations.

• Safely operate landscaping and construction equipment including skid steers, trenchers, and hand tools.

• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.

• Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment in clean and safe working condition.

Jobsite Preparation & Cleanup

• Prepare and organize job sites before installation work begins.

• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed.

• Remove debris and waste materials to maintain clean and safe project sites.

• Support material staging and site readiness for crews.

Safety & Teamwork

• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.

• Adhere to OSHA standards and Sunrise Landscape safety expectations.

• Communicate effectively with Crew Leaders and team members.

• Support team goals by maintaining productivity, quality, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

• Basic landscaping or lawn maintenance experience required. Experience in related trades such as framing, concrete, masonry, or bricklaying is highly preferred.

• Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials throughout the day.

• Dependable and able to work well in a team environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and squat for prolonged periods throughout the day

• Ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift 30+ pounds multiple times per day in hot temperatures

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, high humidity, and rain

Driver Qualification Requirements

To qualify as a driver, candidates must:

• Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license issued for a minimum of three (3) years.

• Maintain a clean driving record for at least three (3) years.

• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
