LAB ASSISTANT/PHLEBOTOMIST, Full-time Days

Memorial Community Hospital & Health System is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory team. In this role, you will perform inpatient and outpatient specimen collection, specimen processing, microbiology setup, waived testing, drug and alcohol screening collections, and a variety of laboratory support functions. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and delivering exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do:

Hours of the position are Monday-Friday 10:00am - 6:30pm
Performs inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, clerical duties, microbiology set-up, reference lab preparation and collection of drug and alcohol screens.
Processes specimens and completes the proper paperwork for laboratory testing for both in-house and reference lab testing.
Performs waived testing and QC for waived testing under the supervision of the Department Manager.
Monitors and documents equipment and environmental temperatures.
Orders, receives, and takes inventory of supplies.
Strong interpersonal skills required for communicating with patients, medical staff, and employees.

What You’ll Need:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
At least 2 years phlebotomy experience/specimen processing preferred.
