IT & Safety Manager

About the role

Christ Covenant is seeking a proactive, dependable, and service-minded IT & Security Manager to support the technology and safety needs of the church across all Metro Atlanta locations.

This position will work closely with Christ Covenant’s external IT partner while serving as the primary internal contact for day-to-day IT needs. The IT & Security Manager will focus on technology security, building access, staff onboarding and offboarding, troubleshooting, and coordinating technology needs across the organization.

The ideal candidate is independent, proactive, and a strong problem solver who can manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs. This role will also work alongside the Facilities team to support setups, large church gatherings, and other operational needs.

What you'll do

IT Support

• Serve as the internal point of contact for day-to-day IT needs, including staff onboarding and offboarding, account and access management, network issues, laptop and hardware troubleshooting, software support, and general technology needs.
• Work closely with Christ Covenant’s external IT partner to coordinate support, projects, system improvements, and more complex technical issues.
• Provide hands-on support to staff and ministries, helping resolve technology issues quickly and knowing when to escalate issues to the external IT partner.
• Develop and manage the IT budget, including technology purchases, software and service subscriptions, vendor expenses, and planned technology improvements.
• Provide input on technology purchases and help ensure IT spending is aligned with organizational needs, priorities, and available resources.
• Maintain accurate records of technology equipment, accounts, access, and other IT-related assets.

Safety

• Oversee technology-related security systems, including building access, cameras, alarms, and other security technology.
• Coordinate with ministries to schedule internal and external security support for events, services, and large gatherings.
• Develop, maintain, and improve security procedures and SOPs for staff and ministries, helping ensure consistent practices across all locations.
• Maintain appropriate technology, building, and system access for staff, contractors, volunteers, and other approved individuals.
• Identify technology and security needs proactively and recommend improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Help monitor and respond to technology and security incidents, coordinating with the appropriate staff, vendors, and IT partners when necessary.

Other

• Work alongside the Facilities team to assist with room setups, large gatherings, special events, and other operational needs as necessary.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and partners on technology, security, access control, and related projects.
• Travel between and provide support for Christ Covenant’s locations throughout Metro Atlanta.
• Provide a high level of service to staff and ministries while helping create reliable, secure, and well-supported environments across Christ Covenant.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor degree preferred
• Have experience with IT support, technology systems, security, access control, or related fields.
• Have a strong service mindset and desire to support the mission and ministry of Christ Covenant.
• Be independent, proactive, and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Be a strong problem solver with good troubleshooting skills.
• Be organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Communicate clearly and work well with staff, vendors, and ministry leaders.
• Be flexible and willing to assist with needs outside of traditional IT responsibilities.
• Character congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel between Christ Covenant locations throughout Metro Atlanta.
• Flexibility to support occasional events, services, and large church gatherings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Facilities team and other church departments.
