- Serve as a strategic HR leader, trusted people partner, and member of the onboard Executive Committee, collaborating with ship and shoreside leadership to design and deliver people strategies that align with Princess values and brand direction.
- Oversee all core HR disciplines onboard, including compliance with MLC 2006, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, disciplinary processes, learning and development, crew welfare, and HR systems.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Human Resources team, building a highly engaged, inclusive, and service‑oriented department that role‑models Princess behaviours.
- Act as advisor and coach to leaders and managers on HR policies, processes, and best practice, providing clear guidance on all employee‑related matters.
- Provide expert consultation and coaching to shipboard management on departmental and individual performance issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely performance management.
- Confidentially manage harassment, discrimination, and other sensitive employee relations cases, conducting prompt, thorough, and unbiased investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
- Act as the ship’s Subject Matter Expert on MLC 2006, monitoring compliance in all teammate matters, conducting regular inspections, and escalating findings and risks to senior management.
- Oversee the Learning & Development function onboard, including teammate onboarding, shipboard orientation, and ongoing training initiatives that support performance, compliance, and career growth.
- Partner with ship and shore leadership to coordinate Employee Engagement Survey activities, analyse results, and implement action plans that drive engagement and business performance.
- Manage the Internal Transfer and Career Progression programs, providing career counselling, supporting succession planning, and overseeing internal recruitment and interview processes.
- Lead the Crew Welfare & Crew Club function, ensuring a balanced and engaging program of social, recreational, and educational activities that supports wellbeing and teammate engagement.
- Act as the designated shipboard CARE Officer, partnering closely with the Medical Department and other stakeholders to support teammates’ physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.
- Either a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Business, or a related field (or international equivalent), or an advanced professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM or CIPD) is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources management, ideally with a focus on employee relations or as an HR Business Partner; experience in shipboard operations or hospitality is an advantage.
- Strong, demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations issues in a multicultural environment, including investigations, grievance handling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Good working knowledge of international HR practices across compensation, benefits, employment, talent management, and organisational development.
- In‑depth understanding of relevant maritime and labour regulations (including MLC 2006) and the ability to interpret and apply them in day‑to‑day decision‑making.
- Proficiency with HRIS/HR systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable working with data and producing clear reports and presentations.
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written, with strong facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Proven leadership capability with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop diverse, multicultural teams while building trust and credibility at all levels of the organisation.
- Highly organised, resilient, and able to prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously in a fast‑paced, shipboard environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgement, discretion, and unwavering commitment to confidentiality and ethical business conduct.
