Head of Sales - Sigmatic Sciences
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Sales - Sigmatic Sciences based in the United States.
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for owning the full sales motion and revenue strategy for a differentiated scientific software platform.
You will lead growth across new business, expansion, and retention, with a strong focus on the U.S. and European markets.
The role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on involvement in complex, high-value enterprise deals.
You will build and scale a distributed sales organization, establish repeatable methodologies, and create the operating discipline needed for predictable growth.
Working closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, you will turn customer insight and market demand into commercial momentum and long-term value.
The position sits at the intersection of enterprise SaaS, life sciences, AI, and modern laboratory workflows, engaging scientific and executive stakeholders.
This is a remote opportunity based on the U.S. East Coast, with regular travel across the United States and Europe.
Accountabilities

Own and deliver revenue targets across new business, account expansion, and net revenue retention, while personally managing the strategic accounts that are central to the annual growth plan.

Define and continuously refine the sales strategy, including account-planning methodologies, engagement models, sales cadences, and expansion playbooks.

Build a scalable and repeatable commercial engine that enables predictable pipeline generation, sales execution, forecasting, and revenue growth.

Lead, coach, and develop a distributed sales organization across multiple geographies and cultures, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.

Personally lead the most complex and strategically important enterprise opportunities, guiding negotiations and executive-level customer relationships.

Establish a disciplined sales operating rhythm, maintaining accurate forecasting, strong CRM practices, healthy pipeline management, and clear performance KPIs.

Serve as the senior commercial point of contact for key customers, building trusted executive relationships and managing escalations when required.

Partner with senior leadership to establish targets, prioritize opportunities, assess portfolio health, and align commercial strategy with broader business objectives.

Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to convert demand into qualified pipeline, incorporate market intelligence into product direction, and drive customer retention and expansion.

Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings, executive briefings, and other high-value commercial engagements.

Help translate emerging technologies and scientific approaches into compelling business value propositions for enterprise buyers in drug discovery, therapy development, and related markets.

Demonstrated success leading enterprise B2B SaaS sales organizations and consistently delivering against revenue, expansion, and net revenue retention targets within complex, multi-stakeholder accounts.

Experience building, scaling, and managing distributed sales or presales teams across different geographic markets and cultures.

Strong knowledge of an established enterprise sales methodology such as MEDDIC, Challenger, or Force Management, with proven ability to engage C-suite stakeholders and navigate complex, multi-year commercial negotiations.

Ability to create the sales playbooks, account-planning frameworks, operating cadences, and processes required to support a rapidly scaling organization.

Proven ability to combine strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution, particularly on complex and high-value enterprise opportunities.

Working knowledge of agentic AI, lab-in-the-loop approaches, and in-silico methods, with the ability to communicate their commercial value credibly to scientific and executive audiences.

Experience selling into life sciences, biopharma, diagnostics, or related scientific markets is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with laboratory informatics and an established network within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related organizations are valuable advantages.

Exceptional people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, coach, and hold a geographically distributed team accountable to high standards.

Strong executive presence and the credibility to build relationships with senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders.

Strong commercial acumen across account planning, renewals, expansion, forecasting, and performance management, supported by a data-driven approach.
