FP&A Analyst
About the role
We need an analyst who can start from a blank workbook and build what the business needs, whether that’s a project model, a financing analysis, a board deck, or a monthly forecast. There’s no template library and no larger team to hand pieces off to. You’ll work directly with the Director of FP&A and the executive team, and investors, lenders, and the board will see your work. If you’ve spent the last few years owning one piece of a large company’s planning process and want to own the whole thing, this role is for you.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain financial models, including facility and project economics, capital budgets, operating forecasts, and three-statement company models.
- Support capital raising investor and lender materials, due diligence requests, cap table and convertible note schedules, and financing scenario analysis.
- Build the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting process as operations ramp up, including KPIs, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Track capital spending against budget and forecast cash runway and liquidity.
- Prepare analysis and supporting figures for government funding applications, board materials, and strategic decisions (expansion, pricing, contracts, vendor selection).
- Work with the Controller to tie NetSuite actuals to the forecast and build reporting that doesn’t have to be rebuilt by hand every month.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, project finance, transaction advisory, or a similar analytical role.
- Advanced Excel: clean model structure, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and models that someone else can follow and audit.
- Comfortable working with incomplete data, shifting priorities, and questions that have no ready-made answer.
- Clear writing and communication, including the ability to explain what a model shows to executives and investors without walking them through every tab.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at an early-stage, high-growth, or capital-intensive company (mining, metals, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure).
- Experience with NetSuite, Power BI, or similar tools for pulling and shaping data.
Is This a Fit?
This probably isn’t the right role if you prefer a narrowly defined scope, established processes, and a large team. It is the right role if you want broad responsibility early in your career and the chance to help build a company’s finance function from the ground up.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $75,000–$90,000
- Annual Bonus: Target 20% of base salary
- Hybrid Schedule: In-office Monday–Thursday, remote Friday
