Founding Engineer

What You’ll Do 📈

• Develop exceptional web and mobile apps: Rapidly ship high-quality, intuitive products prioritizing usability, responsiveness, and elegant design across web and mobile platforms.
• Own the end-to-end user experience: Collaborate closely with product and design, proactively driving decisions to ensure every interaction feels intuitive, high-quality, and white-glove.
• Build a best-in-class AI recruiter: Design and develop an agentic AI recruiting product leveraging cutting-edge large language models, embeddings, and advanced voice AI technologies, creating a seamless and human-like recruiting experience.
• Craft intuitive tools and incentives: Develop products and workflows that make Laborup indispensable to recruiters and employers, effectively turning recruiting into a compelling, productive full-time job.
• Rapid iteration and experimentation: Quickly prototype, launch, and refine new features—actively hacking creative solutions for acquiring new users, building liquidity, and driving adoption across industries.
• Technical leadership and ownership: Own key technical decisions across the full stack, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure, while shaping how proprietary data and AI transform recruiting.

What You Bring ✅

• 3+ years full-stack engineering experience (frontend and backend); comfortable building intuitive, performant web and mobile apps using React, React Native, TypeScript, NestJS, FastAPI, Python, PostgreSQL, and GCP.
• Early-stage/startup experience: Proven comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
• Strong educational foundation: BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field preferred (not mandatory if experience is strong).
• Product-minded: Passionate about user needs, proactive about product improvement, and experienced shipping high-quality products quickly based on feedback and data.
• High ownership: Independently drive technical decisions end-to-end and deeply committed to shaping transformative products.

Bonus Points (Not Required, but Great to Have) 🌟

• Experience building products integrating AI technologies (LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents).
• Exposure to voice AI technologies (speech recognition, text-to-speech).
• Familiarity with Elastic Search.
• Infrastructure and DevOps experience on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
