Director of Sales, AI and Experience Orchestration
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Sales, AI and Experience Orchestration based in the United States.
This is a senior sales leadership opportunity focused on accelerating the adoption of AI-powered customer experience and orchestration solutions across North America. You will lead and develop a team of specialist sales professionals responsible for influencing complex enterprise opportunities and driving AI-focused growth. The role combines people leadership, strategic selling, executive engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with core Account Executives to shape territory strategies, accelerate opportunities, and translate customer challenges into measurable AI-driven outcomes. The position offers significant visibility across sales, product, marketing, enablement, and customer success teams. It is an opportunity to help scale AI-led sales motions and support the evolution of enterprise customer experience through emerging technologies.
Accountabilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of AI and Experience Orchestration specialist sellers operating as overlay sales professionals.

Establish effective engagement models defining how specialist sellers collaborate with Account Executives, including when they should independently lead specific sales activities or opportunities.

Drive consistent execution of AI-focused sales motions aligned with pipeline, revenue, new-logo, and expansion objectives.

Partner with regional and subregional sales leadership to align specialist coverage, priorities, account strategies, and engagement models.

Help sales teams translate customer business challenges into relevant AI use cases, measurable business outcomes, and compelling value propositions.

Demonstrate strong executive presence, thought leadership, and consultative selling practices while establishing a high standard for the specialist sales organization.

Support complex enterprise opportunities by engaging directly with senior customer stakeholders alongside sales leaders and specialist sellers.

Monitor AI market developments, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to continuously refine sales messaging, enablement, and go-to-market approaches.

Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Enablement, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to share customer insights and improve sales effectiveness across the organization.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

10+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, including experience selling AI-related solutions within the customer experience space.

5+ years of people management experience leading specialist overlay teams, subject-matter experts, direct sales teams, or pre-sales organizations.

Strong understanding of AI-powered customer experience, conversational AI, experience orchestration, or related enterprise technologies.

Demonstrated ability to influence sales outcomes through effective partnership with Account Executives and sales leadership without direct ownership of accounts or opportunities.

Proven experience supporting enterprise sales organizations in driving new customer acquisition and expansion growth.

Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive engagement skills.

Strong collaboration skills and the ability to operate effectively within matrixed, cross-functional sales environments.

Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and guide teams through complex and lengthy enterprise sales cycles.

Competitive base salary range of $156,800–$275,800, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
