Dev Ops Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dev Ops Architect based in United States.

This remote role is responsible for shaping the architecture and evolution of critical DevOps infrastructure and application delivery pipelines. You will establish technical strategies that improve system reliability, scalability, performance, security, and resilience across engineering environments. The position combines deep cloud and infrastructure expertise with strong Systems Reliability Engineering principles and architectural leadership. You will optimize CI/CD processes, expand automation, strengthen observability, and proactively address infrastructure and application risks. The role also involves guiding engineers, influencing technical decisions, and communicating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders. • Define and champion the architectural roadmap for DevOps infrastructure, processes, and engineering practices in alignment with business objectives and industry standards.
• Architect and continuously optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, secure, and repeatable software delivery.
• Evaluate and implement DevOps tools and technologies that automate manual processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen system reliability.
• Apply SRE principles to design highly available and resilient systems, including establishing SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to identify issues proactively and provide visibility into system performance.
• Identify infrastructure and application performance bottlenecks and develop strategies for capacity planning, load balancing, caching, and optimization.
• Analyze system usage patterns and forecast future capacity requirements to support anticipated growth.
• Integrate security practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle and collaborate with security teams to support compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
• Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies that minimize downtime and protect data integrity.
• Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis, identifying root causes and implementing preventative improvements.
• Promote a culture of automation, collaboration, reliability, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
• Communicate architectural designs, technical concepts, risks, and project progress effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers on DevOps practices, SRE principles, and architectural standards.
• Support evolving organizational priorities and perform additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, IT services, infrastructure architecture, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience designing, building, and managing large-scale distributed systems and services.
• Strong expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong understanding of system architecture principles, including service-oriented architectures, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and SRE principles.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available technology solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and system issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence decisions across teams and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functional teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer; sponsorship is not available for this position.
