Role Summary:
Responsible for SCADA and renewable energy monitoring activities, including central monitoring data integration, system
testing, commissioning, and coordination with site and vendor teams. The role also involves designing WMS (Weather
Monitoring System) and AWS (Automatic Weather Station) in accordance with applicable technical guidelines and project
requirements. Additionally, the candidate should have a basic understanding of Forecasting & Scheduling (F&S)
requirements for STU and CTU-connected renewable energy projects, including coordination and data requirements for
scheduling and grid compliance.

Responsibilities & Duties:
● Prepare and maintain technical documentation required for Wind and Solar plant integration with the Central Monitoring
System (CMS).
● Support CMS data integration and multi-protocol testing using OPC UA, OPC DA, and Modbus TCP/IP.
● Assist in validating CMS data against the site-level commissioned SCADA system to ensure data accuracy,
consistency, and reliability.
● Coordinate with SCADA, Site, IT, Cyber Security, and OEM teams for troubleshooting and resolution of CMS-related
issues.
● Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) for CMS, SCADA, and communication-related issues and coordinate corrective and
preventive actions with relevant stakeholders.
● Manage customer/investor access to SCADA and CMS platforms, including user access configuration and system
demonstrations as per requirements.
● Coordinate with IT and Cyber Security teams for establishing and maintaining secure remote access to SCADA and
CCTV systems.
●Monitor Solar and Wind plant SCADA systems and support plant operations through data monitoring, validation, alarm/event analysis, and O&M coordination.
●Provide technical support and training to O&M teams on SCADA systems, CMS platforms, communication protocols, and related technologies.
●Manage OPC, FTP, and SFTP-based data exchange and sharing with QCA and ensure reliable and timely data availability.
●Prepare and maintain Static Data for the All-India renewable energy portfolio in accordance with respective State SLDC requirements.
●Possess strong working knowledge of SCADA communication protocols, including Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, and OPC DA.
●Design and develop Weather Monitoring System (WMS) solutions in accordance with applicable CEA and IEC standards and project-specific requirements.
●Prepare AWS and WMS BOQs based on project specifications, technical requirements, and site conditions.
●Utilize MS Office tools, particularly Excel, for technical documentation, data analysis, validation, reporting, and preparation of project-related documents.
●Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Mandatory Requirements:
●Basic understanding of Forecasting & Scheduling (F&S) and DSM for both STU- and CTU-connected renewable energy projects.
●Good working knowledge of SCADA communication protocols, including their applications and commonly used diagnostic/configuration tools.
●Hands-on exposure to renewable energy projects, including a minimum of 2–3 project/site visits, is mandatory.
●Good knowledge of Weather Monitoring Systems (WMS) and Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), including their design, configuration, and implementation in accordance with the latest applicable guidelines and standards.

Skills & Competencies:
● MS Office Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Advanced MS Excel, and PowerPoint for technical documentation, data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
● SCADA Architecture: Good understanding of SCADA architecture and system design for Solar Power Plants and Substation Automation Systems (SAS).
● Communication Protocols: Strong working knowledge of Modbus, OPC UA, OPC DA, MQTT, SFTP, and FTP protocols, including their application in SCADA, CMS, and plant-level data integration. Knowledge of these protocols is mandatory.
● IoT Technologies: Knowledge of IoT devices, data acquisition, connectivity, and integration with SCADA/CMS platforms will be an added advantage.

Requirements:
● Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, self-driven approach to assigned responsibilities.
● Possess strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal teams, customers, vendors, OEMs, and site personnel.
● Educational Qualification: B.E./B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
● Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel up to 40% to project sites, vendor locations, and other business-related locations, as required on a case-to-case basis.
● Be flexible and willing to work across different geographical locations and project sites as per business and project requirements.
● Possess a basic understanding of QCA-related activities, processes, and applicable regulations for STU- and CTU-connected renewable energy projects.
● Have practical knowledge of field-device communication in Solar and Wind Power Plants, including communication protocols, device interfacing, configuration, troubleshooting, and testing of field devices.
