Cloud / DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer based in United States.

This is a fully remote contract opportunity for an experienced Cloud / DevOps Engineer focused on building reliable, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure.
You will design and maintain AWS environments while improving deployment processes, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
The role combines cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, and observability practices.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline software delivery and strengthen production environments.
The position provides exposure to modern DevOps and SRE practices across a range of technical projects.
Strong scripting and automation skills will be important for reducing manual work and improving consistency.
The role is well suited to engineers who enjoy solving infrastructure challenges in a distributed, remote environment.

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure primarily using AWS services.

• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to create repeatable and maintainable environments.

• Deploy, configure, and operate Kubernetes-based container platforms and workloads.

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes.

• Implement automation using tools such as Ansible and scripting languages including Python.

• Apply DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices to improve system availability, performance, scalability, and operational resilience.

• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities across cloud environments.

• Collaborate with engineering and other cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues and improve deployment and operational processes.

• Contribute to cloud automation, reliability, security, and operational excellence initiatives.

• Support modern development practices such as Git-based workflows and, where applicable, GitOps approaches.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services, cloud architecture, and infrastructure management.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

• Experience with Ansible or comparable configuration-management and automation technologies.

• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python or a similar programming language.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, logging, and production system reliability practices.

• Understanding of DevOps and SRE methodologies, including automation, scalability, availability, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues systematically.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

• AWS DevOps Professional certification is preferred.

• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads on AWS is a plus.

• Familiarity with GitOps workflows is preferred.
