Clipper Café Cashier (FT or PT Seasonal)

Job Summary

The Clipper Café cashiers are responsible for providing friendly and efficient service, while maintaining cleanliness and stocking areas. Assist guests with purchases, process payments, and operate the point of sale system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome and interact with all guests.
Greet guests in line approaching the cash register POS system.
Suggest additional items as appropriate.
Receive and processes payments.
Maintain constant interaction with guests, including answering questions, providing directions, event information, and other services.
May assemble orders and present to guests according to recipe guidelines.
Responsible for maintaining work area-restocking and cleaning.
Ensure that food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards.
Replenish food and other serving items as necessary throughout dining room.
Portion and package back-up items.
May ensure freezers are maintained at the appropriate temperature.
May require equipment operation, including working near equipment that generates heat.

Job Specifications

Competencies:

TIPS/TAMS Trained – can be obtained after employment.
Previous restaurant experience; understanding of Quick Service environment preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation guidelines, including temperature requirements.
Has good judgment of food quality and production, understands the impact of spoilage.
Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
Dependable and meets goals.
Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Physical & Other Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
