Buyer (Medical Procurement)
As a Buyer (Medical Procurement) BSM Cruise, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and delivery of medical supplies for vessels, ensuring requirements are accurately fulfilled in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role plays a key part in supporting vessel operations by maintaining the availability of medicines and medical consumables onboard while ensuring compliance with procurement standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage quarterly and ad hoc medical supply requirements received from vessels.
Review medical requisitions and select appropriate medicines and medical consumables for procurement.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on pricing, availability, specifications, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
Prepare purchase orders in accordance with procurement policies and requirements.
Monitor procurement activities from order placement through delivery, ensuring timely and accurate supply of medical items onboard.
Liaise with suppliers, vessels, and relevant stakeholders to resolve procurement and delivery-related matters.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure proper documentation and audit compliance.
Complete goods receipt processes following confirmation of delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) preferred, or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field.
Skills & Competencies
Sound knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Excellent stakeholder management and coordination abilities.
Good negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement-related systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
