Bomber Effective Analyst/Test Engineer, Staff

Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a 100% employee-owned federal government contractor, is seeking a mission-driven Bomber Effectiveness Analyst/Test Engineer to support the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) team at Edwards AFB, CA.

In this role, you’ll work alongside government and industry experts to assess system performance, operational effectiveness, and mission capability across a variety of test environments while supporting the operational test and evaluation of our nation’s next-generation bomber aircraft.

Responsibilities

As a Bomber Effectiveness Analyst/Test Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to:

• Draft operational effectiveness test plans, test reports, briefings, and supporting technical documentation.
• Provide technical support for effectiveness evaluations, including test objective development, test planning, test execution, data analysis, and reporting.
• Assist the Test Director with the timely preparation of high-quality analysis throughout all phases of testing.
• Contribute to test design and planning using knowledge of the system under test, AFOTEC test policies, operational test methodologies, and test range capabilities.
• Analyze test results and help evaluate system performance and operational effectiveness.
• Participate in meetings, technical interchange meetings, conferences, and other program events as required.
• Collaborate with government program offices, contractors, laboratories, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), academic institutions, and other test and evaluation stakeholders.
• Travel to government and contractor facilities throughout the continental United States while representing the government test and evaluation team.

Qualifications

• An active Secret clearance with less than five years since the last investigation closed out.
• The ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access, as required for the assigned program.
• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related technical field, such as:
  • Operations research
  • Computer science
  • Statistics
  • Engineering
  • A similar technical discipline
• At least three (3) years of practical knowledge or experience with military aircraft systems and related technical fields, such as:
  • Flight controls, avionics, and other electrical subsystems
  • Low-observable systems design, manufacturing, and maintenance
  • Propulsion systems
  • Aircrew systems and human-machine interfaces
  • Radar fundamentals and advanced electromagnetics
  • Combat mission planning and weapons employment
  • Adversary threat capabilities
• Experience with computer programming or scripting languages, such as MATLAB, C, C++, Python, or similar tools; or professional training or experience in electronic warfare, electromagnetics, radar cross-section reduction, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Design of Experiments concepts and statistical principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% to 20% to CONUS locations.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
