Benefits Associate Account Manager

This remote role supports the day-to-day management and growth of an assigned insurance client portfolio.
You will build strong relationships with clients, carriers, internal teams, and offshore support partners while delivering responsive, high-quality service.
The position covers the full account lifecycle, with a strong focus on renewals, policy administration, certificates, endorsements, and client requests.
You will also help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen retention, and grow existing accounts.
Success requires strong organization, attention to detail, insurance knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Accountabilities

Proactively manage an assigned book of business while following established service standards and coordinating effectively with internal and offshore support teams.

Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, insurance carriers, team members, and implementation partners.

Provide comprehensive customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving client questions, concerns, and requests through phone, email, fax, and mail.

Manage the renewal lifecycle, including creating applications, requesting renewal information, obtaining carrier quotes, preparing quote presentations, coordinating binders, and updating relevant systems.

Process policy endorsements, coverage changes, certificate requests, and other servicing requirements accurately and within required timelines.

Handle urgent certificate requests, including requests requiring turnaround within two hours.

Maintain accurate client, policy, and transaction information within agency management, document management, and related systems.

Manage accounting activities associated with assigned accounts and complete required surplus filings.

Request loss runs from carriers and wholesalers and coordinate collection of other required documentation.

Adapt to different insurance carrier rating websites and technology-enabled tools used to support commercial insurance operations.

Coordinate with offshore support teams, answer questions, and provide the information needed to keep account activities moving efficiently.

Advise clients regarding policy coverages, changes, exclusions, and potential insurance needs within the scope of the role.

Identify client challenges, develop practical solutions, and escalate issues when appropriate.

Support client retention and account growth through account rounding, new business opportunities, and strong relationship management.

Identify process improvements and communicate opportunities to management that could increase efficiency, revenue, or service quality.

Support special projects and other departmental initiatives as assigned.

Maintain awareness of applicable state insurance guidelines and organizational policies and procedures.

At least 6 months of relevant experience, with 1 year preferred, in insurance, account servicing, customer service, or a related environment.

Current and active Life & Health insurance license required.

Strong understanding of insurance servicing processes, with the ability to learn and apply state-specific insurance requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling policy information, documentation, data entry, and time-sensitive requests.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, carriers, colleagues, and external partners.

Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a practical approach to resolving client and operational issues.

Proficiency with computers, internet-based tools, and Microsoft applications.

Strong typing and data-entry skills.

Ability to work effectively with distributed and offshore support teams.

Reliable home-office setup with a minimum internet speed of 6 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload, using a direct modem connection; satellite internet is not supported.
