- Lead exceptional bar service in your assigned venue, acting as a Princess Cruises ambassador and ensuring teammates consistently deliver warm, professional, and engaging guest interactions in line with our Service Excellence standards.
Own the guest bar and specialty coffee experience by preparing cocktails and beverages to company recipes, ensuring every drink is presented to brand standards, and proactively engaging with guests to anticipate needs and enhance their onboard experience.
Maintain bar readiness and presentation by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and well-organized at all times, promptly reporting and helping to resolve any issues with equipment, fixtures, or furnishings.
Monitor product quality and service delivery, identifying and rectifying any shortfalls that may impact the guest experience, and partnering with the Head Bartender and Bar Manager to action guest feedback and support timely service recovery.
Manage stock and inventory responsibly in your assigned bar, conducting regular counts as directed, minimizing waste, breakages, and mishandling, and following all beverage accounting and control procedures.
Coach and support the Beverage Svc team by providing on-the-job training, guidance, and feedback to Bar Stewards and Utility Beverage Attendants, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards by following all public health, safety, and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines, and ensuring your venue meets or exceeds company and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Education & Professional Training: Graduate of a recognized hotel, bar operations, hospitality management school, or equivalent professional bartending training.
- Bartending Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Bartender in a high‑volume bar, hotel, restaurant, or cruise environment, confidently preparing classic and contemporary cocktails, specialty coffees, and a wide range of beverages.
- Beverage Knowledge: Strong product knowledge across wines, beers, spirits, liqueurs, cocktails, non‑alcoholic beverages, and barista-style coffee, with proven experience in high‑quality service execution.
- Public Health & Compliance: Good working knowledge of USPH (or similar public health standards), Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) principles, and company policies related to hygiene, safety, and beverage control.
- Guest Service Excellence: Demonstrated ability to deliver warm, engaging, and professional service, proactively anticipating guest needs and resolving issues in a way that enhances the overall guest experience.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Strong bar management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and coach a diverse, multicultural team while fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
- Resilience & Decision-Making: Able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment, and adapt to changing guest volumes and operational needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and approachable manner when interacting with guests and teammates.
- Language Skills: Very good command of both English and Japanese, verbal and written; able to understand, support, and hold conversations with Japanese-speaking guests.
This position involves regular physical activity, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving heavy items in line with operational requirements.
