The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027. Based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, this in-person position seeks an innovative and collaborative scholar with expertise in sport coaching, applications of motor development and/or motor learning, and/or coach development. The successful candidate will develop a productive research agenda, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to service. Candidates whose interests align with coach preparation, applied motor learning and development, or coach education are especially encouraged to apply. The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition serves more than 600 students and includes 27 faculty and staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain an active research agenda in sport coaching, applied motor development/motor learning, coach development, or related areas. Pursue scholarly dissemination through high-quality publications, presentations, and external funding opportunities. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School in face-to-face and online formats. Collaborate with School faculty to enhance curriculum and continuous improvement processes required for accreditation. Mentor undergraduate and graduate students through teaching and research. Participate in school, university, professional, and community service activities.
