Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Position Summary The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. Works in conjunction with head coach to supervise and develops an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Assists the Head Coach in all of the following duties: Assist head coach in establishing team goals for season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program. Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport and for attending practices and games. Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations. Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility. Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season. Represents the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses) Assists with game day set-up and breakdown This list is not to be considered all-inclusive.
