Let’s Talk about the Role
The Assistant Commissioning Engineer will support the technical testing and validation of critical substation equipment to ensure safe and efficient power delivery. You will work alongside experienced commissioning teams to execute daily site activities, maintain project schedules, and help bridge the gap between design specifications and operational reality.
Your Impact
· Improving our site safety culture by promoting best practices and ensuring all work environments remain secure for everyone.
· Creating essential site documentation, including risk assessments, progress reports, and technical queries to keep projects running smoothly.
· Collaborating with project leadership to communicate technical deviations and ensure transparent, effective troubleshooting.
· Developing your expertise through hands-on testing and validation of substation equipment, ensuring systems meet their design objectives.
· Ensuring the timely delivery of commissioning tasks by managing your daily responsibilities in line with project goals and budgets.
Special Role Requirements
· Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
· Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
You should be a motivated, hands-on engineering professional with a strong interest in power systems and a commitment to operational quality with:
· The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal teams and external customers to achieve shared project goals.
· The capability to perform testing and commissioning activities within high-voltage environments using industry-standard tools.
· An understanding of power system equipment and how to validate their functionality against design specifications.
· An expertise in working safely in construction environments, including the ability to work at height when required.
· A keen interest in mastering modern grid software and expanding your technical knowledge of power systems.
A formal education or certification in Electrical Engineering is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

This is a permanent, site-based position. You will be based at various project locations, providing you with hands-on experience in the field and the opportunity to see our energy solutions in action.
