Assistant/Associate/Professor - Medicine (Program of Med/Peds)

Position Summary This Med-Peds Hospitalist will have an inpatient position with roles in both the Internal Medicine and Pediatric Department. The Med-Peds Hospitalist will conduct rounds on the inpatient Medicine and Pediatric teaching services at SFMC and CHOI respectively. They will be responsible for leading inpatient teaching rounds as a clinician educator and conducting patient care while teaching medical students and residents. In addition, the Hospitalist will patients independently on these services when residents are absent or have a day off of the service. Duties Responsibilities Lead teaching rounds and teach medical students and residents in the Internal Medicine and Pediatric department on teaching services Provide clinical services for patients hospitalized in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI) and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC) Organize and conduct research and QI projects as desired. Provide attending physician coverage in the Med-Peds continuity clinic at Heartland Health Center if desired. This will include precepting in the Med-Peds residency continuity clinic, with an opportunity for teaching medical students and residents as a clinic preceptor if desired alongside Hospital based practice. This is not a requirement of the position but is an optional additional portion of the job description for faculty who desire inpatient and outpatient practice. Participation in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student and resident mentoring, and administrative and leadership opportunities. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
