Aircraft Mechanic II - Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician
The Aircraft Mechanic II - Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician will perform inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on T-6A aircraft.
Essential Responsibilities but not limited to:
Perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections/maintenance.
Preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing.
Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all electro-mechanical systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance.
Services aircraft. Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components.
Performs inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer and company maintenance manuals and procedures.
Services, operates, and maintains ground support equipment and performs interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas. Must precisely complete all maintenance documentation.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must have a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license in good standing.
At least four (4) years of directly related heavy aircraft maintenance experience is highly desired. Experience must include complying with all applicable aircraft servicing procedures, aircraft maintenance manuals and parts catalogs.
Experience with OBOGS systems and T-6 Life support required.
2.5 Years Textron T6 Texan II aircraft maintenance experience with in the last 5 years required.
Must read, interpret and use manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, data tables and other specifications to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
Must be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Possess a current state issued driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. passport for facility credentials/authorization. NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must possess the ability to carry and lift overhead up to 50 pounds.
Duties include walking, climbing, standing, stooping, stretching, and squatting for purposes of moving equipment, boarding and de-boarding the aircraft, performing maintenance using ladders, and performing maintenance atop and below aircraft.
Must be able to work at high altitudes when performing flight attendant duties.
Work is primarily performed outside in a high-level noise environment.
Performing maintenance in low-light areas, operating support equipment after daylight hours. Work is occasionally performed in inclement weather.
