Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accountant to support our business across the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia and Japan. Reporting to the local Finance Director, you will have a key focus on client billing, accounts receivable and project accounting, alongside management accounting and regional reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on billing and AR experience, ideally gained within consulting, professional services, advertising or another project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & Project Accounting

• Produce accurate and timely client invoices, including fees and rechargeable project costs.
• Manage accounts receivable, the sales ledger, debtors and collections.
• Maintain WIP records and monitor project costs and profitability.
• Reconcile rechargeable costs against amounts billed or unbilled.
• Investigate project variances and support variance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with client billing requirements and internal controls.

Management Accounting & Reporting

• Support budgeting, forecasting, Balance Sheet reconciliations, accruals and cash flow forecasting.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and monthly control files.
• Support regional reporting across the Asia-Pacific business.
• Contribute to statutory reporting, where applicable.

Governance & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Support audit processes and requests.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on accounts receivable and client billing experience.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, advertising or another project-based environment is highly desirable.
• Understanding of project accounting, including WIP, project costs, reconciliations and billing.
• Management accounting experience, including Balance Sheet reconciliations and accruals.
• Detailed cash flow forecasting experience would be advantageous.
• Working towards or holding a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, HKICPA) is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with financial systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
