Academic Interventional Pain Medicine Physician

Join a highly collaborative team of 11 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers delivering comprehensive pain management services across five outpatient clinics throughout the Triad region. Physicians benefit from a strong referral base, robust procedural volume, and the resources of a nationally recognized academic health system.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with a variety of pain concerns in an outpatient clinic setting and should be fully equipped to perform a broad range of interventional procedures, including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, peripheral joint injections, and nerve blocks among others utilizing fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance. Experience with advanced pain procedures including, but not limited to, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, kyphoplasty, and basivertebral nerve ablation is welcomed but not required.

This outpatient-based position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with home call responsibilities shared among faculty. Pain fellows provide first-call coverage, allowing physicians to enjoy a balanced call structure.

Faculty members actively participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and Pain Medicine fellows. Opportunities are available to pursue academic interests in research and education through a faculty appointment with Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
